Sri Chinmoy’s athletic activities

Sri Chinmoy felt that physical fitness and inner progress were natural complements. He was a fast sprinter in his early years, and later became a noted fitness champion in the fields of long distance running and weightlifting. In 1977 he founded the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team to be of service to the sporting community by putting on athletic events.
