On New Year’s Eve in 1996, Sri Chinmoy was offering a meditation for the end of the year. With a noisy background from a nearby party, Sri Chinmoy gave a particular concentration exercise to help deal with the outer disturbance. Sri Chinmoy offers an illumining meditation for seven minutes until the fireworks start for the New Year.

It shows how Sri Chinmoy taught you don’t need to retire to the peace and silence of the Himalayan caves, but we can meditate right here in the modern world, with all its hustle and bustle.

”While you are concentrating, keep your concentration at least one foot [of distance] above your head, so that you are concentrating beyond your earthbound consciousness…“
