The 30th edition of LIFE Voices features Kausal Cortella from Florence (Italy), a gifted naturopathic doctor and founder of the Ojas Academy in Zurich. In his interview he reveals how he met Sri Chinmoy for the first time, the importance of correct energy in our lives and what he sees for the future.

Annemijn Schuringa is a future teacher, works part-time in a special Health-Food Shop and loves to run in the "World Harmony Run". In her interview that I made during our last spiritual gathering in the little Dutch village of Baarlo, she also speaks about her dream to open a new kind of school, how she began to meditate and what are her wishes for the future. Pranam Horlbeck is a real pillar of the Swiss Sri Chinmoy Centre. He is a member of Kailash's singing group who learned 7,000 songs by heart, he organized the World Harmony Run in Switzerland for many years and helps organize workshops, concerts and lectures to bring spirituality to a wider audience. In this interview Pranam explains what his spiritual name means, how he started to meditate and his main fields of occupation.

Ashrita Furman recently reached a milestone by becoming the first person to simultaneously hold 100 Guinness World Records, when he and over 100 participants earned the world record for “A Poem / Literary Passage Recited in the Most Languages.” The historic moment was a long time in the making for Ashrita, who has been breaking Guinness World Records for over 30 years. New York City Councilman James F. Gennaro presided over the event at City Hall Park in New York City and Guinness World Records judge Danny Girton Jr. was on hand to verify the feat. Ashrita and other members from the Sri Chinmoy Centre all over the world recited “Precious” by Sri Chinmoy in 111 languages including many languages you may never have heard of before. We interviewed Ashrita after the event in Manhattan and asked him about the beginnings of his record activities, his training, his projects and what stands behind his enthusiasm. Ashrita Furman has also broken many unprecedented records to honour his meditation teacher Sri Chinmoy in the past.

I met Californian author Gary Quinn during a recent visit to Switzerland where he conducted several workshops promoting positive thinking and a healthy live-style. He has also written books on angels and "Living in the Spiritual Zone". In this episode of LIFE Voices he explains his visions.

Kadek Ardita is a Balinese artist who carries on the beautiful handicraft of drawing and writing on dried palm leaves. This has been practised for thousands of years, long before paper was developed. Today only a few people on the island of Bali have inherited this craftsmanship and use it to create storyboards on the Ramayana, calendars or illustrations of deities, animals and horoscopes. Leif is a former medical doctor from Austria who traveled the world as a nomad with his wife and children. He met many religious and spiritual paths and established his own way of thinking. I had the opportunity to meet him in Lindau, Germany, where he gave a talk shortly before Christmas. He speaks about his experiences in Tibet, explores his concept of healthy food, looks into the future of new technologies and, above all, always tries to be in his heart.

Two years ago I met Boris Purushottama Grebenshikov for the first time, when he gave an interview in beautiful surroundings by the sea in Malaysia. This August I had the chance to speak with him again, a couple of hours before he performed at the Presbyterian Church in Manhattan at the Songs of the Soul concert, dedicated to Sri Chinmoy. The Russian singer speaks about his frequent travels to India, his upcoming concert in Dublin and offers his soulful feelings on music and life.

I had the privilege to meet and interview an extraordinary woman in New York. Sister Madonna is a 78 old catholic nun from Spokane, Washington, who was not only dedicating her life to her religious life but also made history in the running scene. At 52 she ran her first race, soon after she completed a marathon in less than 3 1/2 hours. Since then she has participated in 20 Hawaiian Ironman races and 300 Triathlons throughout the world. At 78 she is by far the fastest in her age category. The whole interview lasted for almost one hour and it was amazing and fascinating to hear her stories and learn about her experiences. It has never been so hard for me to edit an interview because each sentence expresses a feeling and reveals her passion for God as well as for the triathlon world. So I tried to condense the highlights into a 13-minute version illustrated with video footage from HBO as well as from members of our Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team. 40-year-old Swiss triathlete Olivier Bernhard is 2x world champion, 5x Ironman winner, 7x Powerman Zofingen champion and 13x number one triathlete in Switzerland. After all his sports successes he took on another challenge and started coaching—first athletes and later also managers and whole boards of companies. We were able to interview Olivier in Eastern Switzerland where he participated in the World Harmony Run together with Tegla Loroupe in the spring of 2008. He tells us about the secrets of his sports career and about his main goal in coaching: “Do it with passion”. This is LIFE Voices Episode 14.

For the last 30 years Bruno Baumann has been a passionate explorer of today's world. He has traveled all over the world to discover new places, to experience the secrets of nature, especially in Tibet and its holy Mount Kailash. He is widely known for his TV reportages, books, posters and slide-shows. Bruno Baumann tells us about his many projects, his relationship with Buddhism and his plan for an extensive journey on the ancient silk-road leading to Shanghai in 2010, where the next World Exhibition will take place. Through my connection with KidsToKids (a Humanitarian Aid Programme inspired by Sri Chinmoy) I met a very special person to present to you in this episode of LIFE Voices. He is 60-year old Stephan Holderegger from Switzerland. Since his childhood he has been handicapped by a severe immune deficiency disease that destroys the lungs. Two weeks before his predicted death, he got a phone call, inviting him to the main hospital in Zurich for a lung transplant. He grabbed his prepared suitcase and jumped into the ambulance. He called all his friends and told them if he survived the operation he would open a hospital in Kenya for the poor.

Stephan got a second life and started his ambitious project right away. Not only did the hospital open in 2004 under the guidance of his partner Ruth Schäfer, but Stephan started various ventures promoting the hospital and donating organs. First he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, then he ran the New York City marathon.If you want to know more about this amazing personality, watch this episode No. 11 of LIFE Voices. His English is not perfect, but his emotions all come through.

Kyudo is not a sport, Kyudo is a Martial Art form, practised in Japan for centuries. When I was in Kamakura, I was able to visit a Kyudo Training School within one of the main temples of the town. Mamie Mayanaki from Toyko was so kind as to introduce us to this ancient art of Kyudo, where the archer is always in a meditative consciousness and follows a strict set of traditional ceremonies and guidelines. As Mamie states in her interview, you need to practise for 30 years or more to achieve perfection in this field.

In August 2007, 29-year-old Indian marathon swimmer Meenakshi Pahuja visited Switzerland to attend the 20th International Self-Transcendence Marathon Swim, from Rapperswil to Zurich in Lake Zurich. She managed to finish the distance of 26.4 k in 10:48 hours, and placed 5th in the main women's category. We had the chance to interview her before the competition and include some pictures from the race.LIFE Voices No. 9.

A fascination for volcanos is the life breath of Peter Diethelm who has visited volcanos worldwide, but especially feels attracted by Mount Aetna in Sicily. We interviewed the Swiss volcano expert who works closely with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich as well as TV stations all over Europe. He shows us his collection of volcanic stones and passionately tells his life and death stories from the past years. We had the chance to view all his video material and chose some glowing items to illustrate his memories. LIFE Voices No. 7.

It was a unique experience when I visited the "Fontaine Bleue" Sound-Light-Water Sculpture during an Indian festival near the Rheinfall in Northern Switzerland. We interviewed percussion artist Pit Gutmann who created this installation together with sculptor Ruedi Sommerhalder. Pit also demonstrates in his studio some of the instruments involved in the event. Watch this episode no. 6 of "LIFE Voices" and experience something never seen before.

When I attended the "Global Peace Meditation Prayer Day" in Zurich on May 20, 2007, I met the founder of the "World Spirit Forum" (WSF), that is being organized as an alternative congress to the World Economic Forum in Davos. The WSF takes place a couple of days before the WEF and is located in Arosa, which is in the same mountain region of Switzerland. As the founder Sesto Castagnoli explains in our interview, the World Spirit Forum offers an exchange between people from all walks of life with a completely free mind, and they should participate as humans not as leaders.
