Nature is the best partner for entering into the depth of your inner
being and helps you to easily go into a meditative consciousness. This
episode of MOMENTS OF SILENCE brings you a simple scenery of an ocean
with all its sounds, vibrations and feelings. The soundtrack is a
combination of Aum Chants by Sri Chinmoy and flute music by Premik. It
is an extract of the CD "Aum Ocean Meditation". Sri Chinmoy writes:
"When we chant Aum what actually happens is that we bring down Peace
and Light from above and create a universal harmony within us and
without us. When we repeat Aum both our inner and outer beings become
inspired and surcharged with divine Light and Aspiration."

The Glacier of Aletsch in Southern Switzerland joins hundreds of beautiful, significant and inspirational sites throughout the world that have been dedicated to the cause of peace and international friendship, organized by the International Sri Chinmoy Centres. With its silent vastness, beauty and power this glacier conveys a sense of overwhelming peace, reminding us of the Source of Creation. Enjoy the feeling of this mountain region that also has been dedicated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

For this 8th episode of Moments of Silence I chose the famous Iguaçu Falls, one of the biggest water falls worldwide at the border between Brazil and Paraguay. In the year 2000 Sri Chinmoy visited these falls and dedicated them as “Sri Chinmoy Peace Falls”. I tried to capture the beauty and power of this wonder of nature. As water represents consciousness, these falls are definitely a spiritually powerful place.

I recently visited Bali together with a large group of Sri Chinmoy’s students. Near Denpasar airport I found this powerful sculpture-fountain featuring Krishna and Arjuna on the chariot. I chose a simple black & white presentation to emphasize the structures and forms.

In my opinion the Haleakula volcano in Maui is one of the most fascinating sceneries on the globe. It seems like another planet. The colours, the shapes and the freezing temperatures on the top of the mountain in the early morning hours are unforgettable. Join my passion for volcanoes by watching this short film, empowered by the fitting musical composition Heroes by Parichayaka Hammerl.

In 2001 a big fire destroyed part of the Saint John the Divine Cathedral in Manhattan. The indoor walls and the pipe organ were also badly damaged by smoke. Now all the cleaning, including the pipes of the organ, is nearing its end. On Sunday 30th November 2008 a Service of Rededication is planned. The Great Organ will again be heard, the legendary Bernini and Mortlake tapestries will be in place and the Great Rose Window will sparkle from above. Enjoy this episode of Moments Of Silence featuring one of the most beautiful churches in New York. The soundtrack is by Parichayaka Hammerl.

The Great Buddha of Kamakura is a monumental outdoor bronze statue of Amida Buddha in the Kotoku-in Temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is believed that the statue was originally cast in 1252, following an idea by the priest Joko, who also collected donations to build it. The sculptors were One-Goroemon and Tanji-Hisatomo. The statue is approximately 13.35 m tall and weighs approximately 93 tons. I had the chance to visit the site several times and was always fascinated by its magnitude; many say it is the most perfect image of the original Buddha.
