On 19th June, 12 intrepid runners lined up for the 20th edition of the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race. This video captures a small glimpse of the opening moments of the race – the activity and dynamism of the runners and organisers, combined with an inner serenity as the challenge looms ahead.

Speaking about the race, one of the principle organisers Sahishnu says one of the aspirations of the race is to inspire other people, that they too can transcend their goals.

“One of the reasons is to inspire other people from different walks of life to get out of their comfort zone and try achieve a little bit more and also to discover other capacities inside them, I think that is the ultimate goal.”
