The Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race takes place from 15 June to 6 August, giving 52 days for the runners to complete the distance around a short loop in Jamaica, Queens. This year 14 runners have entered the epic race – 3 women and 11 men.  The race was founded by spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy, who believed that long distance running gave an opportunity for both physical and spiritual self-transcendence.
