The second annual 5k Flushing Meadows Race took place on Thanksgiving Week in November 2012. The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team stage quite a few races in the park over the year, from 2 miles to 6 & 10-day multiday events, and by way of thanking the park they decided to have a race in which all the proceeds would go to the park.
