Sri Chinmoy loved to play stringed instruments. Besides his most well-known, the esraj, he also regularly performed on the cello and violin. He not only played his own compisitions but also created quite unexpected modern tunes on them like in this clip from Cairns, Australia, where he plays on the cello and improvises on the violin.
