Sri Chinmoy lived in New York from 1964 until his mahasamadhi in 2007. In a short essay entitled “My New York”  Sri Chinmoy wrote about the qualities and strengths which epitomise his adopted home town of New York.

During his four decades of living in New York, Sri Chinmoy gave regular meditations at the United Nations and was based in Jamaica, Queens.
