The Self Transcendence 24 hour race in Ottawa is the longest running 24 hour race in the world, taking place since 1983. The race is also unique in that it is held entirely indoors, around a 400m track. Utpal Marshall interviews some of the participants to find out what makes them do this kind of race.

This year’s race was won by Pablo Espinosa with 204.6km. In second place, and first lady, was Debra Horn with 193.7km.
