Sri Chinmoy Plays 74 Pianos in a Row

Celebrating his 74th birthday in August 2005 Sri Chinmoy surprised the
audience in Queens, New York with a variety of unbelievable performances. One such celebration was the
playing of 74 pianos in one afternoon. For this occasion, one of his
New York students organized three trucks full of pianos of all shapes,
brands and sizes. After a short meditation Sri Chinmoy started with the
first piano and then, row by row, played instrument in turn. The maestro offered delicate soft melodies as well as
powerful and impressive improvisations. The video is a musical
collage giving you glimpses of this piano marathon.
